Yorkshire Flight Simulator wants you to enjoy and get the most out of flying with us.
When you arrive you will be welcomed into our waiting room where you can relax with a complimentary tea or coffee* while your flight instructor will run through everything you need to know for your flight.
If you are bringing spectators (no more than 6 please) they can enter the rooms where the simulators are situated and take photographs/view your flight, alternatively they can relax in the waiting area.
When you enter the F16 you will be sat in a mock ejector seat which then slides into the cockpit, this is a single seat aircraft but your guests can see from behind the seat. There are several missions available including air combat, air to air refuelling and aircraft carrier landings. Please notify your instructor if you wish to do any specific mission.
For the Cessna 172 Experience, it’s a full size fuselage with a fully functioning cockpit, We highly recommend completing your experience in the skies above New York due to the close proximity of multiple airports and spectacular views. As a default the simulator will be set to New York however , We have global airports different weather & times of year along with day & night flying, If you have anything specific in mind please notify your instructor!
Free parking for up to three guest’s vehicles is available on site.

We offer team building experiences, stag and hen events, corporate events, birthday parties, activity groups (e.g. Scouts) and more!
At our premises, our waiting room and briefing room can cater for groups up to 15 in a fun and competitive environment.
Our venue has easy parking at the doorstep, and we can offer on site catering as well as organizing accommodation and entertainment for your group if required. Call or Email for details.
Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions are applicable to all customers using Yorkshire Flight Simulator’s services. Please read and understand them carefully before purchasing a voucher/experience, making a booking or redeeming a pre-purchased voucher from a third party vendor. The below terms and conditions are applicable to ALL bookings regardless of where the voucher was obtained.
Vouchers bought directly from YFS are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless specified otherwise at the point of purchase are redeemable for any other service or value. Vouchers are fully transferable between persons and can be increased to a higher experience package at the time of booking your flight experience. Vouchers are none refundable upon posting or Emailing.
Extensions on voucher expiry dates are available at the discretion of management and will be subject to a £10 administration fee.
YFS have the right to change prices without prior notice.
YFS staff have the right to turn customers away that appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
YFS staff have the right to work without fear, harassment, or abuse. We operate a zero tolerance policy and anyone behaving inappropriately towards staff will be refused service without refund.
Due to unforeseen problems with the simulators we occasionally may have to cancel sessions dependant on the problem. If your session is cancelled or you are turned away due to a problem YFS will reschedule you booking for you at a mutually convenient time and date. Refunds will not be given.
Our simulators are expensive pieces of equipment and in order to ensure they are as realistic as possible some of the controls are delicate. Our instructors are on hand to help and we know for many this will be the first experience of controlling an aircraft however if a customer is being overly aggressive with the simulator controls they will be asked to stop. If the instructor feels the customer is not actively trying to respect the simulator/ignoring this request we reserve the right to end the session in the interest of protecting the equipment from damage.
Cancellation Policy
We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to amend or cancel a booking for a WEEKDAY term time session. This is regardless of where the voucher was obtained.
We require a minimum of 7 days notice to amend or cancel a booking for a WEEKEND or school holiday weekday session. This is regardless of where the voucher was obtained.
If we are closed when you attempt to notify us of a cancellation or amendment you must leave a text, email or voicemail message clearly stating the name the session as booked under, the time and date of the session and the fact you are needing to cancel/reschedule. Failure to correctly notify us can result in refusal to reschedule at management’s discretion.
Should you become unable to attend your session at short notice you are entitled to send a friend or relative to take your session on your behalf.
School holiday sessions are set based on Wakefield Council LEA catchment area. We reserve the right to set any school holiday additional opening days and times according to the availability of instructors.
Failure to provide the above listed notice periods for cancellations or amendments will result in the voucher being forfeited/payment taken in full and no refund will be given.
Purchasing a gift voucher
Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are redeemable for any of our other services of the same value. Vouchers are fully transferable between persons and can be increased to a higher experience package at the time of booking you flight experience which would be charged at standard rate. Vouchers are strictly non-refundable.
Vouchers will be sent via Royal Mail, We typically dispatch within 2 working days however we reserve the right to post within 5 working days. Should your voucher not arrive within 8 working days of purchase please contact us and we can investigate and redispatch if necessary.
Vouchers can be dispatched to yourself or directly to the gift recipient, however if you wish for them to be sent directly to the recipient please advise us immediately at the point of booking who you would like the voucher addressing as ‘from’ and any personal message you wish to include.
You do not have to wait for your physical voucher to arrive to make a booking if you wish to do so.
Restrictions on Participation
Flight simulator experiences requires some mobility to operate. All participants will be supervised by a flight instructor who will be on hand throughout the flight experience, unless you have been signed off to private hire the simulator. All participants must:
-Be 10 years of age or older.
-Be supervised by an adult if under the age of 18.
-Be in relatively good health, Should the guest have heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness or other conditions that could be provoked by the simulator please contact us prior to purchase.
-Our simulators do not contain strobe lighting however they can flash occasionally depending on flight, unfortunately this means we do not recommend this experience for guests with photosensitive epilepsy.
-Guests may not participate if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-We would also recommend that users should be in comfortable clothes and shoes avoiding short shorts, skirts and heels.
-We recommend a minimum height of 120cm to best see over the control surfaces, this is only recommendation however and not an absolute rule.
-Maximum weight 17 stone.
At Yorkshire Flight Simulator we actively try to be as accessible as possible. We have instructors available who have experience in working with guests with various disabilities and additional needs. If you are looking to bring a guest who has any disabilities or additional needs that may need some adaptation, please get in touch to discuss how we can help.
Private Hire
Customers can be approved for private hire of the simulators provided that they satisfy the requirements of one of our senior instructional staff that they can operate the simulator in a competent and professional manner.
Licensed pilots will need a short brief and circuit check only provided they can evidence their license.
In cases where guests wish to private hire who are not licensed pilots we recommend our ‘virtual PPL’.
Guests with simulator experience only will be assessed for competency and signed off by senior instructional staff prior to being approved for private hire.
Privacy Policy & Social Media
We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third party.
We use an online booking system run by ‘Setmore’ to manage our scheduling. Setmore only stores the following customer information: name, email, and contact number under UK General Data Protection Regulations. Your information is encrypted and only accessible to Yorkshire Flight Simulator’s two company directors, however only your name will be made available to your instructor on the day of your experience. To have your details removed from our database after your experience please email us directly.
Occasionally during your session your instructor may request we take some photos or videos of your session for our website/social media. You have the right to refuse this. Any participant under 18 will require parent or guardian permission. Should you choose to allow us to use your image for our media you have the right to withdraw this consent at any later time, to do so please email us directly.
